Émile Lambert-Deslandes is a PhD student researching nuclear weapons, deterrence, and foreign policy.

Welcome!

My name is Émile Lambert-Deslandes (he/him) and I am a second-year PhD candidate and SSHRC/MINDS Canada Graduate Scholar in Political Studies at Queen’s University. I study international relations and my research is primarily focused on nuclear weapons and proliferation, NATO and security communities, and Canadian foreign and defence policy. My work is supervised by Dr. Stéfanie von Hlatky.

I have authored and co-authored articles, book chapters, and book reviews for International Affairs, the Journal of Strategic and Military Studies, the Palgrave Handbook on Contemporary Geopolitics, and The Conversation, among others. I am available for media interviews on topics related to my research interests both in French and in English.

I am also a Graduate Research Fellow at the Centre for International and Defence Policy at Queen’s University, and Publications Manager for the Network for Strategic Analysis/Réseau d’Analyse Stratégique.

My work has been financially supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Department of National Defence of Canada’s MINDS program, and the Government of Ontario.
